The Lord our God is so good!. He’s willing to do whatever it takes to get you to believe, whether letting doubting Thomas feel his wounds, or telling King Ahaz he’s wants to give him a sign to strengthen his faith, or Paul telling us that salvation is a gift from God, the Lord our God is so good, so good, so good!
We live in a fallen world, and our spirits groan as we wait for the Lord’s return. This world is not our home. But take heart, because we have a blessed hope of an inheritance that will never be taken away!
America today is being torn apart by anger, hatred and division. the Bible says that this is the result of immature leaders, and that only mature leaders can lead in love. But there’s a price to be paid for love, or rather, true love, and the apostle Paul bore its marks.
Isaiah 2:22 says, “Do not put your trust in mere humans.” Fortunately for the widow in 2 Kings 4:1-7, she put her trust in God and not humans, and God helped her. The apostle Paul and Isaiah both say to not put your confidence in human effort at worshiping God, but through a heart that’s made right through faith. Also, the NFL “kneeling” controversy goes to our nation’s capital!
As he was leaving Ephesus, the apostle Paul reminded the church that the reason we work hard is to have an excess to give, not an excess to receive. That is a big difference from our modern economy of consumerism, plus some pretty steamy romance in Song of Solomon!
Once Abram believed, God then asked him to pick up and move. Abram had to leave everything comfortable and familiar that he had known before he believed and now follow God. Once you accepted Christ, did God ask you to move?
